Agreement & Acceptance of Terms
Welcome to UniSearch (hereinafter referred to as "UniSearch", "Company", "we", "us", or "our"). This Terms of Service Agreement ("Agreement") constitutes a legally binding contract between UniSearch and you (either an individual acting on your own behalf or an authorized representative acting on behalf of a corporation, partnership, organization, or MSP partner entity, hereinafter referred to as "Customer", "Subscriber", "Tenant", or "you").
By registering an account, provisioning a workspace tenant, connecting a cloud storage source (such as Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Nextcloud, Dropbox, or IMAP servers), or accessing the UniSearch web search portal, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by all terms and conditions contained herein.
Platform & Architecture Overview
UniSearch operates an enterprise-grade multi-tenant hybrid cloud and forensic search service. The platform is designed to provide ultra-fast (sub-10 millisecond) keyword, phrase, boolean, proximity, and faceted query resolution across disparate enterprise cloud silos and raw archival message stores.
Zero-Disk Indexing & Client Privacy
UniSearch is engineered on a Zero-Disk Footprint Architecture. It is essential to understand how Customer Content is ingested, tokenized, and searched:
- No File Duplication: UniSearch does not copy, duplicate, or mirror your underlying documents, spreadsheets, PDFs, or photos onto UniSearch local host storage disks. The primary documents remain securely stored within your existing third-party cloud accounts (OneDrive, SharePoint, Google Drive, Nextcloud, or Dropbox).
- Inverted Index Tokens Only: During crawling and indexing, UniSearch streams document text in memory, extracts lexical tokens and metadata attributes (author, date, size, subject, path), and stores these in an encrypted native inverted index.
- Direct Cloud Resolution: When a user clicks to view or download a search result, UniSearch generates an authenticated redirect or direct WebDAV / Graph link directly to the originating provider.
Multi-Tenant Governance & Role Privileges
UniSearch enforces strict logical and cryptographic tenant partitioning:
- Tenant Administrator Responsibilities: Each tenant workspace must designate at least one Tenant Administrator who is responsible for managing user seat invitations, authorized storage account credentials, indexing schedules, and payment subscriptions.
- Member User Access: Standard Members may only execute search queries across catalog items and shared sources explicitly delegated to their organization by the Tenant Administrator.
- Cross-Tenant Segregation: Under no circumstances can a user belonging to Tenant A view, query, discover, or access indices, items, contacts, or catalog metadata belonging to Tenant B.
Third-Party Cloud Storage Connectors
UniSearch integrates with external cloud APIs. When enabling connectors, you grant UniSearch permission to access the designated scopes on your behalf:
- Microsoft 365 & Exchange: Utilizes Microsoft Graph API permissions (e.g.
Mail.Read,Files.Read.All) delegated by your Azure AD tenant administrator. - Google Workspace & Drive: Complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy. Tokens are stored using AES-256 encryption.
- Nextcloud Hub: Communicates via secure OCS and WebDAV protocols utilizing user-supplied app tokens.
- IMAP & Thunderbird Profiles: Connects via standard TLS-encrypted IMAP sockets or analyzes designated address book and contact profile stores on customer-controlled shares.
PST/OST Forensics & eDiscovery Boundaries
UniSearch provides specialized deep forensic scanners for unmounted Outlook PST/OST archives, Mbox files, and raw MIME emails:
Customer Authorization: Customer warrants that it owns or possesses the requisite legal authority, subpoenas, employee consent, or enterprise compliance mandate to index and review all archived mailbox files submitted to the platform.
Evidence Preservation: UniSearch does not alter, write to, or delete records inside raw `.pst`, `.ost`, or `.mbox` archive containers. All indexing operations on binary archives are executed strictly in read-only streaming mode.
Subscriptions, Invoicing & Renewals
UniSearch is billed on a recurring subscription basis (monthly or annual billing terms) as specified on our Pricing Calculator:
- Free Trials: New organizations are granted a 14-day complimentary trial with pre-set quotas (up to 5 users, 3 cloud accounts, 50,000 indexed items). No credit card is required to initiate a trial.
- Seat & Quota Allocation: Subscriptions are bound to tier quotas (User Seats, Connected Cloud Accounts, and Maximum Indexed Document Count). Exceeding tier thresholds may require an upgrade or seat expansion.
- Automatic Renewal: Paid subscriptions automatically renew at the conclusion of each billing cycle unless cancelled prior to the renewal date via the Subscription Settings Hub.
- Payment Processors: Online credit card transactions, Apple Pay, and ACH transfers are processed securely through certified PCI-DSS Level 1 compliant gateways (Stripe or Lemon Squeezy). UniSearch never stores raw credit card numbers.
Platform Availability & Bare-Metal Recovery
UniSearch strives to maintain a 99.9% uptime target for search query execution. Scheduled maintenance windows are posted in advance via the administrative banner.
Bare-Metal Recovery (BMR) Snapshots: UniSearch includes automated disaster recovery snapshot routines that package application state, catalog schemas, and indexing indices into encrypted archives with SHA-256 verification. Customers utilizing self-hosted or dedicated deployments are advised to configure off-site SSH/rsync or S3 secondary backup targets in Settings.
Customer Data Ownership & Intellectual Property
Your Data Remains Yours: Customer retains exclusive ownership of all legal rights, title, and interest in and to all data, documents, emails, and attachments indexed by UniSearch. UniSearch acquires no intellectual property rights in Customer Content.
Platform Property: The UniSearch name, logo, indexing algorithms, web user interfaces, API endpoints, and associated software are the proprietary property of UniSearch Technologies and are protected by international copyright and trademark laws.
Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)
You agree not to misuse the UniSearch platform. Specifically, you shall not:
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of proprietary indexing daemons;
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of any UniSearch server or network without prior written authorization;
- Use automated bots or scripts to scrape search results or overwhelm the search query pipeline;
